You will see how he does all the intro work on birds, guns, e-collar, kennel, here, & whoa. I think it is well worth the money! I'm not sure when the n...

IMO it is one of the best. Hickox will recommend a DT SPT series trainer, and if you go with his system of training it will really help to have a DT collar. It has very low levels of stimulation that will make things better for you and the dog. Remember, a video can not give you every possible scena...

Looking at the pedigree, I'll bet the dog will hunt. Most dogs with similar breeding do fine for the average hunter. Give him every opportunity to hunt and work on some training and I believe you will enjoy many years of hunting together!

I had a dog years ago with very similar problems. She would get the "ear itch" several times a year. Sometimes she would start scratching so hard that it would cause a hematoma. Stop shooting! The dog needs to see more birds. Until he is aggressively hunting and chasing birds, I wouldn't start any shooting. When you do start shooting, start with some 22 crimps at about 100 yards and slowly work your way in closer. Move up to a 410 shotgun, then 20ga, and finally a 12ga. The...

I'm not sold on the idea of trap doors to slide birds in and out, just to easy to push them down from the top....You can put three launchers in one spot and simulate a covy launch. I have own a DT 2400 series (7100 series) for almost 8 years now. I actually own 3 sets (1 dog, 2 dog, & 2 dog w/ beepers). I wouldn't own any other collar. The features and the low levels of stimulation make this the best trainers collar on the market IMO.

DT is my choice. I like the side load door and I can place several quail in one to simulate a multiple flush. Buy at least two (2) for training purposes as you'll find them more useful than just one in several situations.

There are several good liters out there or in the planning stage right now. Pick a great pup, but be sure to have plenty of birds ready to go when you bring the pup home. IMO a pup shouldn't come home until the birds are bought and ready to use!
