I feed 30% protein and 20% fat year round, and I gradually increase the amount as it gets closer to the hunting season. In the summer when it is too hot to work dogs, they only get about 2 1/2-3 cups, but as the temps drop and we spend more days in the field, I may increase it to 5-6 cups depending ...

My dogs have lived in crates or dog trailers for weeks when I am hunting out of state or trialing. I always stake them out in the morning, and in the evening when I feed them. If I happen to swing by camp for lunch, I will put them on the chaingang and give them a chance to drink water.

GlycoCharge Question

I was given a large supply of Annamaet GlycoCharge, but the scoop is missing. According to the instructions, I am supposed to dissolve 60 grams (1 level scoop) in 0.473 liters (1 pint) of water and feed within 30 minutes of completing exercise.

My question is: How big is the scoop?

Since I have never owned or seen a dog with carpal arthritis, I would rather remove the dew claws than risk having the dog sit out the hunting season with a painful dewclaw injury. My vet has repaired them, and if the dogs still have dewclaws when she neuters them, they get taken off.

I agree! It makes me want to load the horses and head west. I did a mapquest, and realized that my favorite hunting grounds are only an hour away from the grounds.

I love it when judges assume, because I have sold a lot of "iffy" bird work as a stop-to-flush. Most of the time it was a legitimate STF, but I was the only one who saw the bird fly.
