Thanks for the information. But, once I went to the "photo bucket" website and started the sign up process, I jumped ship when they required my birthdate. Not a shot at you, but if you have only been to weekend trials, and never even seen an AA championship, how do you know what it does, and doesn't take to qualify at Ames? How many times have you road Ames? How many trials outside the SE have you been to?

I used a SD-800 for the first year of training. The best thing I ever did was throw the SD away and get a TT pro 100 and astro 320/DC40 for the second year.

As far as I know, AKC gets a $35 application fee for a trial and $3.50 a dog recording fee. Long prongs - throw the short ones away - they're worthless.
