AH you don't train range in a dog. God either gives them a big motor or he doesn't. Too much dog or not enough dog will always be a discussion. Search the forum, there have been lots of pics and discussion in the past. The "Gene" you refer to would be the "e" at the E Locus, instead of the "E" that GSP's carry.
