i totally agree and its so bad on the east coast especially with toy breeds and you are right about the shelters. labra and golda doodles at least the ones i have seen are totally nuts and owned by first time or inexperienced dog owners attracted to a non shedding breed. if you wanna make a million ...

I see lots of posts about worms on this site and its curious to me. Even before I used Heartguard PLUS, I never had an adult with round, hook or a tape worm.
Maybe intestinal worms are less common in the northeast, dunno.

Ocean stripers but I am close to two several brackish/salt rivers where the little guys hang out. I have spinning gear for fishing the NJ monsters in the ocean and bays.
The fly rod would also be fun catching small bluefish in the rivers.

its not really a treatment, if my dog was suffering i certainly would seek medical treatment, but my experience with my old Lab was that it just came back and i got tired of dealing with it. regular feeding of pre and probiotics is pretty well documented to prevent but perhaps not tested specificall...

There is a place for kibble or other dry types like granular (abady) or deyhydrated (honest kitchen) but still nothing lights up a dogs eyes like a chicken leg & thigh or big slab of liver once in a while or a stinky b...

Yeast is a pain in the butt, Candida especially. When the immune system is out of balance or impaired by some other ailment it takes advantage much like demodectic mange.

I feed about 50% raw, Oma's Chicken Grind, Green tripe, Primal's Sardine Grind, Goats Milk Yogurt/Kefir, steamed carrots & apples - the other 50% is Abady granular, but have used other dry foods in the past.

feeding raw can cost a lot, or very little depending on how much work you wanna do.. beef hearts cost about $1.5 and they are at least a couple of pounds, any way time to head out

I have a Kuranda bed for my Spinone, that he inherited from my Lab and Jack Russell that slept on it for 10 years. They are worth every penny, it hardly has a scratch on it and I have never replaced the fabric, there isn't even one hole or tear in the fabric. I think they make a crate insert bed too...

DC ran a show called "Pig Bomb" last night about wild & feral hogs....wow. Anyone ever see one of those 300lb monsters. Some of the hunters had pretty tough looking bull-dog types with them chasing the pigs...

The solution that I proposed for ear infections in dogs has ZERO downside and 100% upside. Have you ever heard of dog that died from eating Goats Milk yogurt or Kefir?
