Nike, I grew up playing hockey in NE MN. To me the finest sporting event in this country is the MN state boys high school hockey tournament. I'm really happy to see SW MN has started to place some teams in the tournament and end up rooting for them simply for their underdog status.

CJ, not disputing a thing you say. I bought my Springer back in 1999(?) as an end of litter pup. He had Pine Shadows blood in his pedigree. depending on the breed and where you look, you can find decent field bred pups $250-$500 and up. You might even find an end-of-litter pup for under $250 if that last pup or two doesn't seem to be selling at the regular price and the breeder is looking for a good home for the pup

This somewhat makes sense: Limited Registration helps breeders protect their breeding programs However, from my point of view, if a person bought a pup and trains and trials that dog into something great, it doesn't seem right to me that the dog couldn't be used for breeding purposes...

what mn springer said. have observed that exact behavior in my boys. my old arthritic lab still loves to mix it up a little with the upstart poodle. as mns said, when they get a bit loud (esp the poodle) I tell them to knock it off and they back off.
