Re: Sick pigeons, slowly dying HELP!

I am a little hesitant to give advice about pigeons, because I am certainly no expert, but I will tell you what I think I have discovered. This may not be your issue, but I believe that most of the health issues with 'dog training' pigeons comes from not enough ventilation and sunlight in the loft....

Re: Wild Upland Hunting in the West...Where?

The birds are where you find them, drought or no drought. Local conditions vary immensely, so like others I'd suggest you find some traditionally birdy spots and start walking. Try to find water in those spots - streams, etc., and keep walking. In Montana, the block management program is helpful, pu...

Re: Rooster Trip in South Dakota

The people of South Dakota are welcoming and friendly. On the Grasslands, call and talk to a wildlife biologist. The same is true for other areas. Most towns will have hotels or motels that welcome hunters and dogs - just search Google for the area you want to visit. Aberdeen's chamber of commerce i...

Dr. says staph infection

My older wirehair has had a rash-like irritation on the inside of his rear leg, running up to his belly. Sort of a pebbly, reddened area. Vet put some skin cells under a microscope and diagnosed bacterial infection - commonly called staph. My dog has had adverse reactions to steroids, so no predniso...

Love my Glycocharge, and have used Elements "R" and Kronk bars too. Ditto on the positive comments. As for human bars, I would be cautious about some of the ingredients, such as chocolate, which can in larger quantities be harmful to dogs.

Okay, in this day of political correctness (not my forte), less-common sense, and a mob scene at parks, public hunting grounds, and the national forest behind my house ... what do you expect of your dog when he sees:

- A hiker or biker in the distance

And why?

Thanks guys. Trying to minimize the tangling of a cord - pole works great, but where I train lots of brush that will tangle a cord. Plus, don't want to be limited to that location when running the dog free - I like to just drop a bird on the ground as we are out there.
