Re: What to do with Rabbit points?
I have the same problem but I'm not hunting when she points the rabbits. Every time I let her go pew at night she will point them.... my wife was laughing one night and decided she should release her...20 min later my dog came back. She must have worked the whole grove looking for rabbits she could ...
Re: chukars
That's cool. I shot some quail Saturday after we went duck hunting. Let me know if you are going to go around the victorville area out to red mtn.
Re: chukars
There are lots of chukars in California, they are just in a tight geographic area. Mostly the eastern Sierra slope deemed "high desert" and the greater concentrations are to the north. SORRY I had to edit this...I meant that this area of California is best because this is where the Nevada pointer g...

So the first time I have felt comfortable letting other people hunt with my dog was with some 12 13 and 16 year old kids. They got to shoot 2 birds each and my dog was very happy.
Re: chukars
Blm land because no one in their right mind would go there willingly. I would only do it for my dog. Also I have never seen a chukar in ca.

How many bumps are there? Mine gets one or two but probably from crashing through brush... never in the same place. If you have a dog that likes to work deep cover I would expect it.

I would call pest control companies if you live in a city that has them. If not call around to bird farms or speciality stores. They can be free to about $3 at the most. If you are going to blank them put an ad in crags list to use someone's homing pigeons.

So after a hunt test on sat I took my year old gsp to my friends house to pick him up and go hunting. I took off her collars to change to a different one and had to go to my truck to grab it... my friend was with his dog and her in the back yard. I hear him yell and he said my dog jumped his 6 foot ...

I'll keep it short and sweet... my dog went on an escape run with some demons chasing her... her paws are bleeding. Her nails are also bleeding... well they were.. so should I do anything besides clean? I don't care about her pain for the time being.... she did it to herself.... I just kennel her an...

My dog isn't force fetched but if she sees the duck fall she will go for it. The less decoy you have out the better so it doesn't check them all before going to the real duck. She will wine a lot but I ignore her and when she is quiet ill pet her and give attention. If you can I would make a platfor...

They are great I picked some 12x42 and have only had problems with the eye cups breaking.. I hunt for desert mules in az with my bow a lot. Unless you beat them up bad they will last. If you are paying full price go with the cabelas euro models. They are better.

depends on the dog and how you use them. if you have good control over your dog and know it will not try to catch or pin the bird you shouldnt have a problem. they fly pretty weak like stated above. i used them for my gsp when she was younger and i just wanted birds, bird, and more birds to get her ...
