Instead of changing gauges and calibers this system uses distances of ever decreasing lengths to intro pups to gun fire. i could not count the number of times I use this method to

In practice I tape mine. Working with only two dogs I can reuse the same birds for weeks. Taping the flight feathers of one wing does the job neatly. I use masking tape, because it's easy to remove. Most people I know use electrical tape or they pull the feathers. Nobody I know actually clips wings...

I don't clip pigeon feather's, I pull them. Read years ago that you clip them and they won't come back till the bird molt's. Pull them and they will quickly come back. I would think a close working pointing dog would be easier to hunt with from a wheelchair. It would give you more of an opportunity to get ready for the shot. Do not assume "most" trap shooters wear a certain tint of lense color in their glasses. back in the 60's and 70's that might have been the case. With FF completed your dog has learn how to learn. personally i have found this to be great time in the pups life to teach steady to wing and shot. Keep up a good pace in teaching new standards and reinforcing previously learned behaviors.
