i like this design. i think the doors would be easier opening this way, less of a hassle, and cheaper. you could put the inside on your garage, i am sure it wouldn't be too hard for the contractor.

get your hands on some birds, and lots of 'em. i would suggest releasing lots of them in front of her, no corrections as mentioned above. sounds like a tough problem but one that you should be able to fix as she is still young.

Did you used to hide on the dog when she was younger? I ask because you said she bolts back the way you came. I'd say she looks up, sees you gone and hits the panic button. Get her attention before you drop from sight on her. Then if she flips anyway, call her first before you nic. She sounds very ...

Simply answer, find a trainer who can help you to learn before you buy another dog and "train" the dog with a wing and a shock collar. If you called me and told me what you have done, you'd not own a pup I bred. Exercises in futility are not training. The dog was not "e-collar conditioned" wings ar...

same topic different type problem, need to know if what i have been doing is ok. a little background: 15month britt, e-collar conditioned, knows "here", continuous work to reinforce commands (including "here"), relatively close working examples of problem: 1) grouse hunting down logging road, she is...

some dogs don't like 'em but i would give it a valued effort before chosing against using one, i find them very helpful. how did you introduce your dog to the beeper and at what age? my best advice would be to get some birds throw on the beeper and have some fun. she will forget all about the beeper...

one piece of advise, don't overtrain a puppy. it sounds like you have a good dog, let it be a puppy and enjoy hunting so you can turn it into a great dog later. it is a wild animals instinct to circle back to confuse a predator. a lot of pheasants may run straight but i think the smart ones circle b...

i sent my britt to the trainer having no kennel experience, it did not kill her and she adjusted in a matter of days. i would wait until she goes to the kennel for the following reasons. 1) you don't have to hear her screaming all night 2) she will be around other dogs that will reassure her she is ...

why a gsp? i don't see a reason why you couldn't make a gsp a grouse dog. typically a gsp or setter will have a bigger range than a britt but there are exceptions to every rule. personally i like a close working dog, therefore i went with a brittany. she will get out every now and then but sticks wi...

will not answer your question but will give you something to try. i never liked having a beeper and e-collar on the same collar. i found putting the beeper on a seperate collar around the dogs waist worked the best for me. keeps the beep out of the dogs ears and doesn't seem to bother her a bit. the...

thanks for the replies... our lodge will be really close to the reservoir so i will give that a shot first in the manner you suggested. a second option is a wiha, i looked at the 2006 map and seems there are a few plots close by, i will give them a shot if the reservoir is unsuccessful.
