The last line in Averageguys post are so true. Last year we had 2 young GSPs with just basic training. We had huge numbers of quail on a private ranch. Covey after covey on 2,000 acres. We just let the pups make mistakes and learn. By end of season the were much more experienced.

That depends how smart the dog becomes. When my present dog is scenting birds are near, she creeps and works slow and close. Sometimes hits point to let me know birds are near right off the tailgate. I put a hot wire along the bottom of my fence on pvc pipe posts, for a dog that was an escape artist. He touched that wire once. Never needed the charger after that.

Does the pathfinder notify when dog goes on point? What is the time delay between time dog goes on point and time you get notification? Garmin is about 20 seconds delay.

Lots of you younger guys are getting big bellies. I had a bucks bags built for my son at 5ft 6in with a huge beer belly. Had mine for 2 years and love it. These vests fit like a back pack and come in various sizes. Has a place on the left strap where I attach my Garmin 430 tracker.

Bought an old tritronix Sport g-3 recently with 2 collars on e-bay for $130.00. Have had the same collar for 10 years. Bought these 2 for replacement just in case. Batteries are now available through aftermarket, but have only needed 1 in 10 years.

With Beeline and Nolans in his background I would do it if I had a dog. Those are superior NSTRA dogs. Titled NSTRA dogs are excellent hunting dogs. No comment on AKC tested dogs.

My last 2 Brittanys would not play fetch but were outstanding retrievers on birds. Always train your dogs separately. No it is not to late, you just need to train what you want it to hunt. Does it know NO and OUT ? If it is obedience trained it will make a good hunting dog.
