Besides breaking them, and more importantly nails that grow too long can change the locomotion of the dog setting it up for injury to the foot and joints as well as reducing stamina. Long nails can also change the way a dog stands on its feet sometimes causing breakdown of the foot itself.

Ted we are on the same page, I do not think it is advisable to have hot wire to keep your bird dog away from birds, you may never have an issue, however it is not something I would risk.

Level of a started dog should be congruent with the age and cost. There isn't and never will be a set standard for a started dog. I hunt with plenty of guys who's go to hunting dogs are not trained to the level that most on the internet expect of a started dogs.

It is a dilute gene that exists in some lines of GSP. It is not an accepted color and is a fault that should not be bred for.

I am just the opposite I like almost all white and I don't believe anyone should judge by color performance is what is important regardless of color ive seen b&w that were great dogs and ive had apure liver that was dumb as arock color is just a personal preferenceother than some kind of inbreeding...
