No plastic but the leather is pretty thick. Thought about covering it with something but mine is already scratched up because I use it everyday.

Re: Astro 220 Carrying Case
Shadow, I needed something that I could hand to a judge and not worry that it would get lost. I was using all sorts of contraptions; bottle holders, camera bags, tote pockets, that just weren't working for me. Now I'll be able to simply hook this to the judges saddle and collect it at the end of the...

The Cover Dog trials are run on wild grouse in the grouse woods. The only difference is that they don't shoot the birds.

Craig, The beauty is that you can take most any "line" of Pointer and do anything you want with it. It has much more to do with the owner than it does the dog. Your dog's sire is by HTA bred to a Miller female. Your dog's dam is 100% Rebel (Dbl Whippoorwill's Rebel). That means that his pedigree is ...

Actually, there are field trial grounds in Broome County, just east of you and in Baldwinsville, NY, to your north. The circuit will be heading back up there in late spring. You could go and watch some nice dogs run.I have watched Hts but never FTs as we have next to nothing in my area.

I prefer Pointers ...but who didn't know that!
Setters are the classic grouse dog, but Pointers have been doing very well in the cover dog trials the last few years. ...and you don't have to spend the entire night pulling burdocks out of a Pointer!
