I'd burn it and chain harrow afterwards,I've noticed it helps a ton in my pasture when doing that.Seems like the ash creates some type of fertilizer that really encourages growth.

It is hunting season,IMO the dog will learn far more than you could even try to set up and teach him if you just go hunting,keep your bar set low and let him figure it out for himself,the first season is the dogs,the rest are yours.

Concur on the guage of the wire,my kennels were made by the local chainlink fencing contractor,I ordered them with the 9 guage fabric,it's bulletproof. The trick is pulling the skin of the tail towards the rump,so that when cut the excess covers the stump.Vets(around here anyways) always throw a stitch in the tip to hold it together.
