ymepointer, The Weimar pup we now have is very young, so we don't know exactly her abilities as of this point. I can however tell you about Samual J. Coop, our old Champion Weimar. He was a German Weimar brought in to the USA thru the old Kennel in south Texas, and he was the very best hunting dog I...

jKoehler, I shoot a lot of birds when training but the dog must preform all tasks correctly before I shoot. Prior to using the launch cage I train on wild Grouse, introducing the blank gun and the .410 in the woods, prior to actually shooting down any birds, either in the Grouse woods or using the l...

Re: Undoing the damage from poor-flying birds
Gentlemen, Here is the way we fix other hunters dogs at Pine Creek Grouse Dog Trainers, we train on wild Grouse, running the dog until the dog figures out he can not catch the bird, the dog then locks on point, we then use several launch cages to finish the job. We start and finish our own dogs in t...

Vino, I never use the e-collar around the house, you need to spend more time with your dog, if the dog is jumping on the counters. After the dog understands what you expect of him, discipline the dog properly and become the big dog. At four months, the dog is only starting to understand what you exp...

nanny1,
This also depends on which testing format you are talking about, Penn-Hip is a multi shot test from different angles and actual measurements are done.
Not sure about elbows, but from the criteria it seems at least one of each joint is required.
