My dog LOVES the sight of her e-collar. Even just handling our doggy gear bag gets her all excited. When those things are in use, she knows good things are in store for her. She even knows when I put on certain boots she is in for a good time. "dogs is smart"

On Thursday Ginger is headed to the trainer for two months for the first time. She is 17-18 months old right now and I know I will miss having her around. But I am curious to know of your experiences relating to the adjustments dogs go through and what I might expect when she returns.

Same here. No big deal. In a couple of years you will have forgotten about it. Also, one option that might actually be cheaper than the boarding is to leave it with a trainer for a couple of those months.

Shooting under - a clear sign there is too much weight or it is centered too far out or there is a stock drop issue. An appropriately sized and adjusted stock and balanced gun will do her wonders. I don't know a lot about Setters, but I don't see any other responses so I'll chime in. I think you may be splitting hairs. There will likely be more variability between any two dogs that are Setters than the breeds in general. Does that make sense?
