Are you sure the dog does not have a physical defect that is causing this? It happens and in some cases the anal glands are removed. Also, found a few other fiber sources: Good sources of fiber include: raw sesame seeds, ground flax seed, psyllium seed (Metamucil), buckwheat, whole oats, brown rice,...

Very true. That is the common cause for horses. Yes, horses are a pain in the a..! I have never seen such delicate creatures! My horse, who was on 100% pasture, never any issues but the expensive "fancy" horses had every lameness in the book as well as gas/atmospheric colics, etc. Of course the cra...

Re: Generic Dog Food Dermatosis

Ezzy- I think horses are a bit different. Most of the horses that colic and then are euthanized are horses that are kept in stalls/ feed way too much grain/high perf horses. The horses I saw colic over the years were always kept in an "unnatural way". I never saw a horse in 25 yrs that was kept out ...

If you have no plans to breed your dog and/or no plans to return the dog to the breeder, which you do not, - there is no reason to do hip radiographs. The variability in how Vets read xrays is high. I raised rabbits when I was a kid- for 4H/shows/etc. Had a NZ, big- white and red eyes, ~8#. NZ are your basic meat rabbits. Everyone had them. I had mostly mini-lops, ~6-6.5#.
