Oh wow. That looks pretty bad. I had a female rott that would get them a lot. But usually one or two spot at a time.
Thinking about it now...she quit getting them after we moved from our first home back to the house I grew up in. She had a thick coat though. Not normal for rottweilers.

I've never had a barker or a whiner before. My new pups has changed that. He will be 5 mo old next week and is still barking his head off when I crate him. My male Rottweilers were the same way. I think they just loved food. I fed them 2 cups, 2 times a day. With a 26/16 food. They stayed lean and looked good. You could just cut back on the amount a little bit. As long as they look good, they are getting what they need. Sometimes they just want more.

3 months is awfully young I think. You will have only had the pup for a month. And a week or two of that time is considered the "fear period" of puppy developement. I don't start with gun into until after 12 weeks. I would take the pup out to find birds but wouldn't be shooting any birds. But depend...

I think as long as your keep mixing it up with planting location, number of birds planted at one spot and you shoot a bird every now and then for the dog there shouldnt be any problems. Keeps the dog on their toes and fun for them. Also not overdoing doing bird work. You want to have the dog wanting...

My dog natrualy started pointing fur. He actually points and holds better on bunnys than he does birds.
He hasn't had a lot of bird contacts but there are rabbits everywhere and he has figured out the game with them. (He can't catch them if he chases)
