Personally, I don't think a dog has to like you for you to train him. He does haveto respect you. I think it would be best if you don't try to encourage her to get all excited when she sees you. Calm is always better. I don't see why you would havea problem with using treats especially for obedience...

I made dog beds out of 1 1/2" PVC with 3/4" cattle pads. Pretty indestructable. I made the legs a bit to on the first ones.They broke a few times. Cut them down to four or six inches and they worked great. Some are 20 years old now. They do tend to make callouses on the dogs hocks and elbows....Cj

Thanks for sharing the injury information. Sometimes it is hard to believe the trouble dogs can get into. KInd of like raising kids. we seem to learn to avoid bad situations as we go forward.

My choice woud be to have her spayed. No sensiblle reason not to have her spayed It isthe best option for her health if she will not be used for breeding. No reason to have a litter like that. She possibily may not be pregnant but spaying will be a good poption either way. If it was only 5 or 6 days...

Also easier to live with, keep,haul and many other reasons. No real upside to a big dog IMO.

I used 3/4" thick cattle pads that can be cit to fit the kennels Can't remember the size.but I think I got fouror six 22X32 pads. my advice would be to have her spayed or at least vet checked and probably ultrasound. it is not unusual for older dogs to have false pregnancies and have milk. The timing seems a little early.
