Go SD, you will limit out. Depending on where you go in Iowa you might struggle to find a few. Go to SD after opening week and there will still be plenty of public hunting places open.

Make the truck/kennel a treat. My GSP was 14 yrs old and would jump in the truck and sit in the kennel and whine. Why? She loved to hunt and go for walks. it was a treat for her. Anytime she had to get in the truck she knew she would have fun. I take it the dog doesnt stay in the kennel at the house?
