Re: Clicker training...
I have never been able to understand clicker training. I just can't imagine saying nothing to your dog but click the clicker. Doesn't the dog need to learn commands before the clicker will work? If your away from home and don't have your clicker with you, how do you get the dog to sit? If it's off a...

Phermes and GH got it right. Don't fool around with it, encourage it to jump on you and knee it every time. I would be suprised if you have to do it to many times. And get other people to help you, let them encourage it and knee him when he does. For myself, I like my dogs to jump on me. Bodie taugh...

Yes, be patient, she is just a pup. I wouldn't try getting heavy into heel now, just get her to quit tugging on you. You notice the tie out you put her on? It doesn't try to walk her anywhere and she's still on it. Take her out on the lead and just stand there. Went she settles down, take a step or ...

For the last 10 years or so I have been using the Buddy Stick instead of the check cord, and I too use the launchers to train stop to flush, so I guess I just misunderstood. An eight mo old Pointer, even a woose, should be able to handle an e-collar. But have the dog in hand and let it learn before hitting it. I would get him a good pillow to sit on next to a heater and get a Lab to do the work! I don't think you could pay me to shoot 1900 fps loads at doves and quail... There is no substitute for patterning your gun. That's what I was thinking. 1900fps! High initial velocity offers very little advantage in shotshells. At the point of impact the extra velocity is hardly noticeable. This is...
