Re: Time swimming

MG thanks for the reply. The labored breathing due to a restricted airway is so obvious I overlooked it.
Yes the lab guy I talked to was referring to time spent doing water retrieves.

I will err on the side of caution and not swim over 10 minutes at a time while it is warm out.

So I got a chance to talk to Lab trainer about length of time swimming and I was surprised by his answers. He said now with water temps near 80 and air temps pushing 90°, he wouldn't swim a dog 30 minutes. I know labs have a heavier coat but others say a minute swimming is equal to 4 or 5 minutes ru...

Safe water treatment for dogs?

I have a water tub in the yard that has 3 to 8 gallons of water in it for the dogs to get a drink. Can I add a small amount of bleach to eliminate the mosquito larvae? Some say a drop of oil ?

I know the dogs ingest far worse but I don't need to actively raise mosquitos in my yard.

Well you have to walk before you can run so hold is taught as the basis for fetch. My dogs all "fetch" just now a polished retrieve to hand so that is what I am working on.
