Re: American Field compared to NSTRA
Trials are usually run on a Saturday and Sunday. Anyone has the option to sweep the field at the end of Saturday, and Sunday morning before the first brace begins in order to even out the field on Sunday since there will be birds left in the field from Saturdays braces. Therefore the first brace cou...

No I actually already talked to Keith. He was a super nice guy and told me to call him back any time. Sometimes I just like to get outside opinions. I haven't even decided if I am going to get one from here. I just know they have a good operation, but not sure if they would be good for the NSTRA game.

If I were looking at getting a dog from Blue Dawn Kennels, what breeding would you guys recommend out of their dogs? I am looking for a good NSTRA candidate. Most likely a male. There's really no difference between hunting lines and FT lines. All of your hunting dogs have FT lines in them. The difference in size usually comes from German lines vs. American lines. The German lines are excellent for your average foot hunters because the hunt at comfortable range, and have exc...

I ran one trial down there this fall. It was a horrible weekend. There was so much ragweed none of the dogs could smell anything. It was the lowest scoring placements I have ever seen. I will be running at least one trial in Lone Star, Mckinney Texas and maybe one more in May. What about you.

8 cups of food per day is way too much. Are you feeding once a day or more than once a day? An 87 lb GSP is huge. Even your big ones don't usually get much over 60 lbs. Dogs having loose stools in the mornings during a hunt is natural.
