FF and the GSP
I have long been a believer in FF. I have never done it though. I have always paid a trainer to do it. I have dipped my toe into a new breed, a GSP and it has been my intention to do the FF myself this time. I thought I'd buy SmartFetch and give it a try. A few weeks ago I read on one of the boards ...

This is a link to a story about a local goose hunter who ended up in the water trying to help his dog out.
Happy ending to a near fatal situation. The temps are hanging around zero in the area today.

I just picked up a pair of Mechanix winter wear gloves at Lowes. We are in the middle of a real cold snap up here in South Dakota right now. The bark collar will probably help alot. I have been in your situation and it is frustrating knowing that your dog is irritating the neighbors with behavior that really doesn't bother most people that much. My dogs really don't bark much in their kennels but do when they have the run of the yard. I ...

Big Steve is right. I would add that they are much more easily spooked. If you are fortunate enought to get the rooster to hold for the point get your tail over there! He may not hold for long! This will vary with the weather conditions, of course. Wild pheasant hunting is work but it's also alot of...

I haven't changed the feed at all. It does have corn in it and I'm trying to remember if it is cracked. I don't think it is.
When I first set the loft up I bought some grit but they never ate it at all so after a month or so I just quit putting it down.

For some reason the last 6 or 7 baby pigeons born in my loft have died about a week and a half after hatching. All of the adult pigeons seem fine. None of them have died. I've had the loft and birds about a year and a half and have not brought in any outside birds for several months. I keep it clean...

Bobman,
That sounds like a riot but the vast majority of your deer must be shot on the run. At least it would be that way with our whitetail up here. The mule deer do tend to stop and look back at you but I'm not sure they would if they were being chased by a dog.
