I asked this same question a year ago. I had always had EP's yet for some reason was drawn to the Brit this time and don't regret my choice at all. You and you only can decide what dog you want, research, study differant dogs till you find one that seems right for YOU. Just make sure the dog fits wh...

If I ever have a dog with a patch on one eye... I'll name him (if it's a male) "Pete.. or Petie" after the dog on the "Little Rascals"... always loved that dog... In the old black and white original shows... 8) HECK YEAH...I've thought the same thing Short...loved the old Rascals! Dog now is D.W. D...

Re: Chokes?
Well I shot my first birds with the new gun on Monday with the IC choke in. It did well, but I think this next time out I will give the Mod a try. It was prob. me, but on my longer couple of shots I did not get a solid hit on the bird. Dog found one wounded bird and one became a track star I'm think...

Re: When to Introduce Pheasants
When I dropped him at trainer 2 the trainer took a pigeon and set on the ground in the open. The pup walked over and as soon as he saw the pigeon he turned and walked away, looked the same as a gun shy dog. The trainer slowly got him back bird crazy. Just saying it's best to be cautious with a young...

My pups have always been trained on pheasants and pigeons. If a 6 month old pup is going to quit because a bird slapped him I doun't think there was much chance the pup would have made much of a dog.' Train or not to train? Everyday is training day when you have a pup is what I have learned! Its kind of like having kids, you train them from the day you bring them home, but you don't start training them to ride a bike from day one! In other words, start small and work up....always have fun and nev...

I agree with all the above except praise when they potty outside! According to many people praising a dog for going potty will make him thing he is being praised for doing it in front of you and not just because he did it outside. This leads to the dog walking up in front of you in the house and fr...

When they hold a two day event can you run/test your dog on both days or just one of the two? The dog has to pass 4 times at each level, if I have it correct, and if you could test the dog both days it sure would cut down on the time and travel at each level! If the dog passes that is! What this dog did is in its mind set! I would NOT trust the dog ever again around any child even with training...you never know when it will relaps! Dogs are just like people, there are good ones and bad ones! Putting a dog over the security of ones child is never worth the risk!

Question about hunting two young pups together!
