Fortunately over here ,some good trainers of dogs keep whole litters up until they are finished and ready for the shooting field . So having a pup with them is not so different ...more beneficial sometimes

Breeders in the past who extensively line bred required to cull . Breeders these days sell pups . Speaking about kennel name set -ups , not Mr brown breeding his bitch with his best shooting buddies dog . ... I remember years back , the famous Budweiser advert with the weimaraner playing the piano .
I was running a behaviour centre for dogs at the time .
1 year after that advert ,Budweiser sales were up 20% , and my behaviour classes were up 40% .
I love a beer now and then .

And that is what forums are for . Last time I looked ,this board had a title 'Gun Dog Forum' ? Unless I have missed something ,commands for some dogs are in favor of others and that's just not right in my book ..no matter the breed.
