Re: Do you shoot a double barrel?
Second bird usually needs the tighter choke. No bobwhites here so I'm just on wild gambels and scales. They are fast, And the first bird doesn't always go down. I'm definitely not a pro at the gunfighter draws. Pass shooting ducks and geese is usually done at long ranges. Here anyways. I usually use...

Re: Do you shoot a double barrel?
I'm a firm believer in single shots for young shooters. I makes them learn to concentrate on the shot not worrying about getting off a second one. All of my kids learned to shoot and at first hunt with only one shell in the gun. Even if the gun could hold multiple shells only one was loaded. On my ...

Re: Do you shoot a double barrel?
The advantage of the double over a single barrel wether It's a semi auto, pump or single shot is the ability to choose a different choke pattern. Front trigger for close birds and the rear for a follow up. Optimal pattern for the situation. And a double trigger double gun is the ultimate tool for me...

Re: Question for you desert guys
The gambels have been a little easier to stop in my experience compared to the scales. The running you describe usually stops in the rough stuff like cactus where they feel safe from predators. The lead bird also dictates the flush, experience counts on how that covey survives. There is a huge covey...

I couldn't imagine a safety concern with "Dogs on 1 side of the fence....horses on the other side" unless one or the other were to get through.
Ezzy, if I may ask what did you keep in the lot's that were encircled with welded wire for 30 years?

Far too many people cull their children before they are born because it would be too inconvenient to drop them off at a shelter where people are waiting in line to love them. Human life unfortunately won't make the headlines...

I have another question to lay over top of the original. Are those of us who use birds in training unmoral because of the way we use them? Two eggs at at a time, I've also seen the parents lay a new set of eggs before the last pair of babies are out of the nest. Food and warmth are all that deter them from continuation of back to back and overlap clutches. So the answer to your last is varied.
