Bell when into her first heat today! My little girl is growing up!

Shes a big girl now! She started her first heat today =)

Hi everyone,

When I came home today, I saw that Bell had come into heat! The time is here! I feel like my little girl has grown up. If today is the first day she was bleeding, could carl (6mo. GSP) have gotten her pregnant?

I'm sure bell could whoop that tail for carl at this point. Carls going to be a big boy. His feet are huge!

I would say she is dominant over carl at this point. I agree, maybe its best to work one at a time for now!

Bell 7mo. and Carl 6mo. I did not fix either dog. They stay in the same pen. I do not want them to mix because I feel that bell is too young and bell is a lot higher caliber dog than carl. I the reason I got two is because I wanted bell to have a play mate. However, Carl may want to play too much if...

I give the dogs TONS of attention. Maybe too much =), It seems like they go through raw hides like crazy. What else is good to give them that will last longer?

That sounds good too. Its hard working two dogs with one person. If fact, I had one dog "Bell" who does great alone. But I just bought a second GSP "Carl". Now its like they compete with each other. michael, I usually try to train my two GSPs about 10min a day. I started them on a blank gun. I would throw a dummy and as the dog is retrieving it, I would fire the blank gun. The point of this is to get the dogs attention on something else before you fire the gun. At first you can even muffle the ...

When I'm woking my two dogs, and a bird is flushed and shot, they wait for me to tap them on the head. However, when i tap one they both take off after the dead bird. My question is, when a bird is shot, should both dogs fetch on just one?
