Re: How to get extra weight off?
My GSP is a large build, when in tip top shape he weighs in at 76 or so pounds. At that weight he is all muscle and you can see hip bones and most ribs. So 4 cups is just right in my opinion. Then why did you ask? Your dog is 18 lbs overweight and you want to take some it off. Put your dog on a die...

The available combo GPS trainer on the market right now is by SportDog, the TEK 1.0. You can see what it looks like on a dog on the topic in training. If you want to see what's up with TriTronic, check with Garmin because they own them and would supply the platform. Yeah, sorry, meant sport dog LOL...

Three trials a year, why so little? I did plan to travel to nevada, arizona and idaho if I could. But is three trials about the norm for any club I'm only talking AKC trials here. There are other clubs that run Af trials around. The GSPCU usually puts on 3. The VCOU sometimes holds 1 a year. Thats ...

always feed after. There was a post a while back on this. It is more harm than good feeding and watering before any kind of strenuous activity.

Re: When is it TOO cold?
exactly. In utah, it has gotten I think -5 or -10 below since I have lived here these 8 years. My dog's have never come in, I keep it dry and wind free. They aren't bothered one bit by it. And yes, I don't know what it is but the warm food seems to help keep weight, or maybe just a super full tummy

Re: When is it TOO cold?
I live in Utah, and for winter I put plywood and tarps all around the kennel, and not to mention lots and lots of straw. Also, when I feed them around 3-4pm I put hot water in their food so they can have a warm belly.
Edit: Oh I have 2 male shorthairs.

The GSPCU is holding an AKC trial in Elberta on 11/12 - 11/13. Come watch and ask questions. We can probably even round up a horse for you to ride a few braces. Nice, sounds fun. If I don't make that one, the Dec. trial will be a sure shot. I haven't been on a horse since I was like 10..lol..17 yea...
