He doesn't care if it's wet. You need a routine you stick to. I get my dogs out in rain, snow etc. The only time we break the routine is if it's -10 degrees+. Try reading "Working Springers and Cockers" by Mike Smith (amazon.com).... I don't use DVD's, so can't help you there. Another suggestion would be to join your local bird dog club as usually they will help you out with some tips & pointers - it's been a big help for me....

Abby entered the crate by her self last night which was amazing. I went to get her a treat for doing so and when I got back she was out. I work with her during the day with her toys and treats to get her to associate good with the crate which seems to help. She still cries long and hard in the morn...

It might help if you include her in the sport (if she isn't already). Once included, then you tell her she needs her "own" dog to train. That's what I did for the hubby in bringing two springers in the house. What's mine is mine, what's his is mine..... :D
