They may have a food source and have plenty to eat already. I had a farmer that used to catch pigeons for me. He would go up in his loft where there were pigeon nests that he could reach. He would monitor the nests and wait until the young pigeons were nearly ready to leave the nest. Then he would j...

Re: Small bump near corner of dogs eye
Most of the old school vets around me are gone. I drive a county over to go to one. Several years ago I took a dog in for standard shots, and I pointed out to the vet that the dog had a little 'growth' near one of his eyes. The vet looked at it, and then grabbed it and ripped it off, and said, he sh...

The flank collar is a great tool when used correctly. I have started using it and will never go back. It's pretty difficult to explain in a few sentences on a message board, but that doesn't mean that it's invalid.

I use the whoa post with the hitch around the flank, which progresses to an ecollar on the flank. This is the progression that I use. The dog first learns that he can release the pressure of the rope around his flank by standing still and not fighting it, no verbal command is give. Then the rope aro...

It sounds like your mind is made up. Ask the fellow to take the dog back and give you a refund. If he does, that's great. If he doesn't, then find the dog a pet home and learn from the whole experience. Get some help from someone with a little experience before you start over.

It was a terrible play call. To go for a touch down instead of a field goal at the end of the first half was also a poor decision, even though it worked. I do understand what they were thinking. I don't see anything unethical about your plan. The only thing I would say is that if someone is letting you trap pigeons because they want to get rid of them, it might be unethical to let them fly right back. In that case, I would shoot them.

I think you are going about it the wrong way. First of all the puppy is young and it would be fine to expose her to birds, but with no real expectations and with no formal training. Second of all, there is no substitute for birds. You can substitute pigeons for game birds, but you still need birds. ...
