Re: vets waiting room
Last time i was at the vet, we had a little black three legged dog with dominance issues. so i just looked the other way, and happened to drop both of my dogs leashes at the same time. Have you ever seen a three legged dog run on sealed concrete? Hilarious. the uptight lady did not appreciate it how...

I call him "bleep" when i am mad, sometimes we call him bo vice. my girlfriend calls him deker or deke tree. His newest is price albert because of his recent run in with a barbed wire f...

Weird question.
Last night my dog ran through a barbed wire fence. He ended up puncturing his penis area, I say area because i am not sure if it just got the skin or made it all the way through. It bled bad for about a minute then stopped. We rinsed him off and put some antiseptic cream on him last night and this m...

Re: Anybody know about used trucks?
problem with cummins is the tranny. Dont get me wrong i used to drive a 99 cummins but was manual. Now if you wanna spend some cash stick a allison in a dodge, that is the way to go. Or i guess you could drop a cummins in your chev.

Re: Anybody know about used trucks?
Where are all the duramax fans. Our duramax's tow anything and everything we put behind them, and get better mileage than dodge or ford. Plus, the dogs love leather heated seats in the winter. You cant go wrong with an allison tranny either.

we are just trying to get him on some birds that we will be hunting so that opening day he doesnt just run around chasing butterflies. I know when he went to the trainer they used chuker and pidgeons, and he had quail on his property. But should we be using some pheasant to get him used to that kind...

I have a question that might sound a little stupid to some of you. I have a nine month old pointing lab, and we get him out with pidgeons about once a week and he is doing really well. Now our pheasents are about old enough to start training with. My question is how do i go about releasing these thi...

I highly recommend tiger mountain. You will not be disapointed. my pup is right around ten months and he has pointed since we had him. He points at everything from his food, the tv, and live birds. He retrieves like no other lab I have seen, he hits the water hard and has been since the first time h...

I have a yellow lab who Whistles out his nose almost constantly. It gets alot louder when he is swimming. He also does it in the duck blind, so now i get to lean on him when ducks are coming. Usually people get a good laugh out of it.

Where in Washington are you guys training, I live in the Bellingham and cannot find a spot to train with people to save my life. Right now we got three guys who know next to nothing trying to teach a dog who knows more than us. It is kind of scary to be honest.

Re: Stomach issue
They dont really know how he got the bacteria. From what I understood it was a common thing for older dogs to get, and dogs eat random things. The vet does not know if the bacteria caused the problem or made the problem worse. Anyways, he is back out hunting, put him on some birds yesterday and besi...

Update...... Deke is doing fine. He had a bacteria in his stomach that caused the inflamation. Vet had never even heard of it, or seen it. A couple of shots later and some canned food for a week and he is back to normal, besides the stitches.

k9luke is on the right track. We never pushed our dogs to swim. Just take him out with other dogs that love water, and soon he will jump in so that he can play too. Then again I have labs. So it might be different.

Ask him if he will pay half the bill. If he says no and gets mad just leave and never come back. If he agrees, then pay the full bill and bring your dog back becuase he is obviouslly a good guy.

They are testing him for cancer, and any toxins. I just saw him about ten minutes ago and he is actually up and walking. Drugged up but still walking wagged his tail a little bit to. There was no torsion, just the walls of his stomach were swollen.

My 9 month old black lab pup woke up yesterday and had went to the bathroom in his kennel. Later in the day he started throwing up regularly. I thought he ate something bad so i just let him throw it up and relax in the shade. Later in the day he threw up some blood so we took him to the emergency v...

It is not that i dont love labs. And i do have a dynamite pup that i just picked up, he is out of Tiger mountain. I just want a change of scenery. I will always have atleast one lab. They make the duckblind funny and cold days in the phesant field somewhat less miserable.

Re: Skunk odor help :(
first you hit them with dawn dish soap.. get it deep down to their skin, let the soap sit on them for fifteen minutes then rinse and repeat. The big key to most of this is how long you let it sit, its called dwell time. You have to give the soap long enough to break down the oil protien mixture that...

Cabelas Lite n load strap vest. By far the most comfortable vest i have ever worn. I have a water deal that i took out of my camelback and put in it, mine holds just over a gallon and a half of water. The vest feels like you are wearing a normal hunting pack, plenty of space for birds, transmitters,...

Benelli M1 By far the best gun i have owned, and you can find them used for right around 400. It is light, and durable which makes it an awesome field gun. I used to shoot a rem 870, then one day i saw the m1 and just decided to get it, Very happy with my purchase. As long as you clean the gun you w...

The time is almost here to start planning phesant trips. We are thinking about heading to miller, SD. As the title says I am new to training. My dog is a 8 month old pointing lab. He will be hunted primarily in the duck blind, but we do get out for phesant hunting quite often. He has been introduced to birds, he points very strong for a pup (90%), He retrieves, although until recently the water here...

This is what the guy who I bought my Pup from told me about using a shock collar.
Unless he is screwing a deer, dont shock him. Atleast till he is big enough to reach.
