Re: how far do you hunt from your truck

Never bothered to check, just as far as need be. These two pics are from where I parked yesterday morning and we hunted as far as you can see in them which is about three or four miles in the first pic and about two or so in the second. http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z268/dbubbadog1/100_0261.jpg...

I agree but I am not sure it came just from trial dogs. For a matter of fact, I am sure it hasn't even though there is nothing wrong with them if that is the type of dog you want. Re: breed of bird dog with the best nose?

I put much more importance on brains and drive than nose. The best two pure wild birddogs of any breed I've ever hunted over had an average nose on planted birds. Both dogs knew where to go at a young age and did it with heart on wild birds, and would usually find four or five covies to one over so...

The only one I have read and it was around three years back rated the best, in bird dogs, as the GWP, second was the Pointer and third was the Viz. I dont recall past those three actual rankings but know which ones were not in the top 10.

OK Ross I can see ya point, but as we all know who have ran trials, winners are in the judges eyes only when the chips are played. Rufs dam is bred double Bull (HTA). His sire is bred Elhew X Hammer Down. It is the Fiddler blood that caused it, Scott Miller had it often enough he learned to do it himself. That why I made the comment about style be "bleep" earlier.
