Ok guys, I am looking for the bore specs of a 16ga shotgun as it would relate to "choke". I spent many years chasing hounds, we started alot of our dogs on squirrels, to get them the idea of treeing, and then moved them on to night hunting. squirrels are pretty simple, take the dog out, knock a squirrel out of the tree and then hang it in the fork of a smaller tree and encourage your pup...

I spent a few years hunting quail over a flusher (lab) to be honest it was a blast shooting flushed quail over her. You will never see a covey rise like when a fired up flusher pushes them out of the giggle weeds.

At 50-100yds Id be looking at a 3.5in shotgun and buckshot or a 22mag. I would venture to saythat the training for a BROKE hunting dog and an FT dog would be similar i.e. the steps taken to reach the end. No..... most of my friends have common sense. Some folks have never seen a dog beaten in the name of correction, they have never seen a dog shot with bird shot for chasing deer. I would venture to say most of the people you were talking to have no concept of what a well trained dog is.
