I spent a few years hunting quail over a flusher (lab) to be honest it was a blast shooting flushed quail over her. You will never see a covey rise like when a fired up flusher pushes them out of the giggle weeds.

No..... most of my friends have common sense. Some folks have never seen a dog beaten in the name of correction, they have never seen a dog shot with bird shot for chasing deer. I would venture to say most of the people you were talking to have no concept of what a well trained dog is.
