What do you expect a FT horse to do? If you were in the market to buy a field trial horse what are the deal breakers? Does a horse have to stand to mount? Have to ground tie? If you were going to buy a horse what must it do for you to even take the time to look?

why are you so set on 2 different breeds? I would do my research, as well as find hunt tests field trials and some training days to watch the different breeds of dogs work. you do enough blind research you can find any answer to fit your needs.

Its hard to make money on 40ac unless your raising livestock (questionable at that) and its hard to raise live stock if your not there.
