The flip side of the coin. Should a person who has a verbel argument with their wife or girl friend loss thier gun rights because a cop decides that someone needs to be charged with a domestic over a simple argument? My pointer was the same and I got her late too... Mine would only do it when the pheasants would run and not pin down... she would start yippin' like a beagle on a bunny... drove me nuts, and I was just about to try a bark collar when I had her hunting, but she stopped on her own... hope yours does ...

I dunno, but if you've ever read some of the outdoor and field magazines list of things you should always carry in your pack while out hunting, you'll need your truck to haul it all! Keep it simple...

Yeah, I'm sorry, but I don't see pen raised pheasants as a problem for young dogs. My dog has a tougher time with pinning down Grouse than ditch chickens. I generally don't like the dog to associate anything about the e-collar with birds... especially wild ones... keep patient and consistant and she will figgue it out... more birds will teach her better than a few birds with a bad association with the e-collar... Well, I guess I can see there may be reasons not to put your dog on pen raised birds... and what I know about training pointing dogs, you could fit in a thimble so, I certainly don't claim to know more than a published author... but... That's a Pennsylvania stocked Ditch Chicken... We will hit them this week hard... Should be fun! But the grouse here seems to be the King of birds for a dog to figgure out... Mine is still struggleing at 3 years old... They just confound her to no end.
