Go when it's overcast out! A friends mother had then taken out a bunch of years ago. Doesn't seem like it was a problem for long. They used a lazer, saw it done on TV. A controlled break on the bird (dog breaks but stops on command) is not a movement to mark. The dog in the pics would still be in judgement with no demerit. Re: Rehab for my gsp (broken leg) Ideas?
The dog broke his leg just 2-3 wks ago? Don't push it! Fractures do not heal in 2-3 wks. That dog should be on crate rest. Problems happen when owners allow too much freedom to dogs too early. You should consider your fall season as rehab. Dog should return to work next year. You usually start by w...

I would say throw the birds down too if you didn't have remote launchers. Remote's let you control the bird. Dizzy birds on the ground do what ever it is they are going to do. Make sure if you put birds down, you don't put them to sleep. if you do, your pup will learn to catch everyone! Hold them wi...

One of my old pointer's, Kate, would chase thewing on a string as long as I'd play with it. She never pointed the thing in her life. I don't recommend playing with the wing on a string but I also don't know anybody that hasen't done it. Don't do that but I do it with every new puppy!

I think it would be hard for me to say any one of any breed is best. Speeking of just Britt's, I would bet every pup out of NRB did not make a good field dog. I would look for a Britt, if I were you, as a family pet. Then if you take up hunting, just take him along. I'm sure I will get disagreement on this, but it comes from riding, running in, and judging GSP, Brit, Weim, Viszla, and Pointer/Setter trials. Planting birds farther out is the way to go. I'd have one problem with sending your dog out farther. Your asking a dog bred to not be to independent to become more independent.
