Re: "MEAT DOG"
I always thought it was spelled "meet dog" as if this was something you say when you took one of your buddies out hunting. For instance, hey pal-o-mine, "meet dog".... as in the kind of animal you should have but we both know your wife wears the pants in the family.

Please don't take this as negative but you are talking about breeding a dog that you don't even own yet. Regardless of the research you have done, you are making a huge assumption that the dog you buy, regardless of the breed or line of dogs you purchase from, that your dog will qualify as breed sto...

Expect all of the above... Talk to your breeder and find out what the nightly routine was like. I just sent 8 puppies home and all varied a bit in their first night at their new homes. Most of them whined a bit but settled in within a reasonable time frame at night. Even the one I kept was none to p...

ACooper and Ckirsch pretty much covered it. Do as many as you have time for and remember that they all bring a little something different to the table. If you are still in the learning/investigation phase, you might try heading out to a couple of local events to see what they are like up front.

If you look at a bag (any bag) of puppy food, you will find the calcium percentage to be around 1.1% where PPP is .9%. PPP is considered to be an all age formula feed. I would be surprised if someone told me .2% would make a difference but that is just my opinion. Vet's, in general, are not canine n...

There are couple of thoughts that come to mind as I read this.
