Well I finally did it! Two weeks ago I was able to finish not one but two of my dogs FC's at the GSPC of Reno trial. I have trained and handled them all myself. I have hunted behind good trial dogs (AFC & NFC titled) that I would not want as a hunting dog.

So lets hear the names? Not just a blanket statement. Escpecially the NFC you hunted over.

The trial vs hunting dog debate really shows the lack of experience in one or the other areas

Yea I was there. I took two 2nd's two 3rd's and won both the puppies stakes.
I went to Reno last weekend also. Did you ever make it?

Chukars hold quite well if a dog stands them off. If he crowds them they will blow out. Late season birds can get skittish and a big nosed dog really shines during that time. The ones I have broke have shortened up but after awhile it all comes back. My Tuck dog I was really worried about after I broke him. He didn't go anywhere for a long time, but now he is bigger than ever before.
