Addict If you get down my way I have a few breeding pairs I will give you, but they are mostly white. They have been having mostly red babies though. I got a lady that is getting out of the pigeon racing business and said she would give me about 40 of them. I should get them in about 2 weeks so if a...

Lost my friend
I'm sorry to dump this on you guys but I need to tell somebody. Yesterday I got a call from my wife, hysterical and I could hear my kids crying in the back ground. She said my Ryker had just been hit by a car. I came home as fast as I could and found him lying on my lawn with my wife and kids. Ryker...

Broke dog questions
If you buy a broke dog are you buying somebodies wash out? My friend and I have been debating this. I say no not always, and if so, maybe a washout to a person who trials extensively is the best bird dog a hunter may own. He thinks if they are getting rid of a dog that they have put that much traini...

Birddog All I have is a manuel launcher and when I work him alone he has learned that when I bend down for the cord to pull that a bird is coming up so he has started creeping in. It works well with a helper to pull the bird but when alone he has it figured out. I even lengthend the cord but trying ...

Training screw up
I messed up  I was working my 6 month old GSP saturday on carded pigeons. He is pointing well but will not hold it very long. I had him on a check cord but I thought we were a ways off from the bird so I left him range a ways. Well the bird had gotten up and moved closer, he pointed but busted...

I bought a this collar from a guy that used it on his Lion Hounds. It is a one dog unit with tone and a 1 mile range. You have to change the electrodes to increase/decrease levels. Once you find the right level does the dog always respond so you don't have to change intensity? I was going to get one...

It sounds as if your gun is setting both firing pins by opening the action, which should only set the first. O/U set the second firing pin by the recoil from the first. I wouldn't even mess with it myself I would get a gunsmith to look at it. I've learned the hard way that is best to pay somebody wh...

My experience with pigeons is if you have got them from somebody else who was flying them or caught them, then you might get back half if your lucky. I don't fly any birds that I buy or trade with others. I do fly all the young birds but I get them use to their new loft after weening. I have a trap ...

Newbie with some questions
Wow this is a neat site! :D I have a whole bunch of questions for you experts. First, I am looking for a close to medium working GSP with a strong desire to retreive. Any particular lines to look at? Second, How do I find if there are any Field trials or hunting test in my area, and can I go to them...
