Mine are barefoot right now. They finally have great feet after a summer of water damage.
I expect to stay barefoot unless my travel plans change to take me out of FL & GA. Lots of soft footing in FL and every trip to GA has at least one shoe lost in the mud.

Notice those shredded bags were 35 lbs too?
I tried to get Performance and two stores were out. Store manager said Proplan was replacing Performance as well. They didn't even have Puppy in stock!

Lots of great info here GSPVIZ... Vizslas can be fickle... even with just a choke chain.. I had a young male decide that he would just stop moving instead of leading on a leash with a choker on it because he know I was going to say whoa... with a correction if he didn't whoa... It is a horse back trial then. No need to be any steadier then that for an AKC derby. I would say, depending on where you are running, the majority of handlers in a horse back OP or OD will ride. Gary, Be sure you know the difference between the two. Derby is 20 minutes and puppy is 15. Derby dogs MUST point where puppy doesn't have too. Do one or the other or BOTH. Save your money. Springers are nice but not needed.

Oh ya... I am now carrying ferrier tools to remove my own shoes.
Nothing worse then having a shoe get sucked off by the sticky Georgia mud and have nothing to remove the other.

I am not going to breed him. The Pb is $8 for 3 months from my vet. I have been reading and it seems like giving them a tablespoon of vanilla ice cream helps bring their blood levels up and can prevent some post event symptoms. I will try that. My experience with E and phenobarb was that if you were off just a bit timing wise with the meds, the phenobarb serum level would dip far enough to allow a seizure.... or in your case, it sounds like a cluster.

A horse is less likely to rear with a tie down on. I have also seen a horse throw it's head and drill the rider (who was watching his dog). So, in a trial situation (we trial on mostly flat ground), the tie-downs go on. I guess it's not necessarily a safety item - call it what you will I guess. Som...
