Ditto. From what I have seen of the breed, your kids will have a new best friend as well. Would make a good dog for them to work as well if they are interested.Of the two, personally, I think a Spinone would be a better fit for a household like that. JMO

I raised rabbits when I was a kid- for 4H/shows/etc. Had a NZ, big- white and red eyes, ~8#. NZ are your basic meat rabbits. Everyone had them. I had mostly mini-lops, ~6-6.5#.What is an organic New Zealand rabbit?

Why am I not surprised? Mickey is spoiled. My kids will be picking voles out of a field for their treat. Chloe got 12 once in 30 mins. She is hoping for that again! Voles are nature's popcorn. YumI shouldn't talk I have an organic, New Zealand rabbit defrosting for Mickey's Christmas dinner.

I would soak it in warm water with antibacterial soap (hand soap,etc) to clean it. Peroxide is pretty harsh on tissue.

This could very well be your answer. Yes, some dogs do have allergies to topical flea and tick control.i think this started to happen when i started using frontline, i dunno if some dogs develop this, even the hair looks like its standing up.

That is what I would do. Both of my dogs have had hindlimb lameness and I went straight to my ortho specialist.I am thinking it is probably a waste of time and money going to my normal vet first. Don't you think? Probably better off going straight to the ortho guys.

Considering she is only 2.5 yrs old, I would definitely want this properly diagnosed. Ongoing injuries like this only get worse. U Minn is there- how about a trip to an orthopedic specialist? Parvo vaccine can take 2 weeks to be effective so depending on when the pups were vaccinated vs when they were exposed may be something to look in to. Also, parvo can live for a year or more outside in cold temps in feces...

Try carring some Meti-Cam Metacam is Meloxicam (generic). Metacam is the dog drug that costs a mint, Meloxicam is for humans. Ask you vet to write a script for the human meloxicam. I fed a 28/17 (Wellness Puppy) until Max was 6m and then switched to an adult food. No issues. Unless you fed a grain free from 2m. old, most likely you will have no issues. The feeds you suggested are fine. Have fun with your pup!is the 24/16 an acceptable food for our new puppy,

I have seen small white patches on the chests of some of the field bred Goldens at obedience competitions.
You won't see white in the conformation lines as it is heavily penalized in the breed ring.

what do you soak it with hydrogen proxide or just warm water or ? Warm water with antibacterial soap (hand soap humans use) is fine. Here are a couple sites that discuss treatment options for carpal strains/hyperextension. It seems that most favor doing surgery but there is info about treating conservatively in these articles. Metronidazole is used to treat giardia. That was going to be my next question--have they been tested for giardia? Both of my dogs had loose stools this summer so I put them on a 14 days course of metro. Cleared up...I thought fenbendazole was the treatment for giardia
