Re: Pup hates her bell!
I had the same problem with my pup. She would just stand there. I could walk a quarter mile away, she wouldn't move. I fixed it by putting a christmas bell on her (from a wreath) that was about one and a quater inch in diameter on her. It had a small ring to it. She wore it around the house, for a w...

Not getting my pigeons
I'm new to this pigeon trapping thing, and have a question about why I can't catch them. I've done like I've read on this site. I've put my trap at a highway patrol yard on an out roof of a salt shed. I can see at least 20 pigeons on the hydro wires in plain view of the trap. I put the trap upside d...

I bought these collars [K-9 Komfort TufFlex Center Ring Dog Collar] (2 of them) from recommendation of posters on this site. I find them to be tough and really great. They have both rings, and while I use the D ring for my leash, in a pinch, the O ring comes in handy.

Re: Introducing dog to pigeons
He was a later addition (I didn't get him at 8 weeks). He was a year old when I got him, but he needed some obedience work, so that is what we spent a lot of time doing. Tried him on pigeons and quail initially, and he didn't like either. Just sniffed, then took off to run the field. Went for a walk...

Hi all... just a humble brag about my pup. I took him and started working with him, but haven't done any official field trai...

Introducing dog to pigeons
Quick question. I need to intro my pup to pigeons (assuming they cooperate and start trapping!!). More importantly, I need him to get excited about the birds. Is the best way to achieve this to just put a bird down, and let him sniff it out and chase it? I've seen him point a quail (held a couple of...

Re: Making and All Age trial dog
MTO - I guess the biggest difference between a shooting dog and an all age dog, for me is how they go through the country. The ideal shooting dog ground application, for me, can be described as hunting its way forward in an intelligent manner. The all age dog, on the other hand looks up...sees and ...

Both of these dogs have plenty of brains and the ability to get it done whether they are trialed or hunted. A dog that is pushed into running allage will soon be lost everytime they turn them loose. It is a very natural ability and the very good ones are few and far between, there are a good number...

Yesterday, I noticed what looked like a wet mark on my Britt. Upon investigation, it looked (and felt) like a sticky goo on his back (approximately 2" long by 1" wide).
