Sounds to me that you are doing the "right" thing.......at the end of the day, you need to have confidence in your vaccination approach. I can certainly understand having the analytic data to back it up.

Genetics matter most, experience and training 2nd and 3rd and last is HT/FT events......I only look at them to mitigate my risk in picking a dog with a proven ability to hunt, when I can't or am not able to hunt over the parents. I think the real bottomline here is #1....find a vet you trust, if you don't trust their judgement then you don't have a good "working" relationship with them and need to find another.....and #2.....have an honest dialog with your concerns regarding all vaccinations (or any other treatments for that...

I have 2 Dogtra 3500NCPs, a TriTronics Upland G3 EXP, and a TriTronics Sport Combo G3 EXP......from my experience I like the features of the Dogtra much better and believe it is a better training collar, but the Tritronics are much more reliable.

Here's a device that's been around awhile (couple of years?) that provides a location service, and it will notify you if your pet goes outside certain boundaries (for a service fee).

Mixing also allows you to measure it more accurately on most syringes if you are using the lower levels that match what most HW medicine contains.

Legality depends on the type of dove......some of the states that have the invasive Eurasian Collared Dove allow shooting them yearround. That being said.....as the previous posters have said, and for all the same reasons, I would not use a dove (dead or otherwise) to introduce a dog to birds...

One of my pups had OCD and since then I've used the jerky strips with the joint supplement as their daily "go out in the garage as I go to work" treat. It's a pretty light dosage and may not do anything for the dogs but makes me feel better (and I don't even eat them!!!)....

+1 for the George Hickox method to introducing a dog to birds and guns. It amps up their prey drive on the birds first and then they become so focused on the bird that they totally ignore the gun's report. One of my dogs freaks out anytime there are fireworks and doesn't particularly like thunder......

+1 for the conditioning, but I also use Xtremefuel Booster Bars during hard workouts for my dogs. I spend about a week pheasant hunting SD every year with just my two dogs and no days off (unless weather is really extreme) and the bars seem to keep them going pretty well during the day.

Those look suspiciously like what I heard called "puppy pimples". Both of my dogs get them occasionally, but they are generally around the lips and the underside (tip) of their bottom jaw. I've never seen them on top of the nose. Mine generally just get one or two at a time and never quite the mass ...
