Re: *VIDEO* Winning Run From Handlers View
The idea of a trial dog is not to find all the game. Too much time and energy searching every bush. The dogs learn to identify cover likely to hold birds called objectives and cast out to those objectives. A trial is about driving your Ferrari as fast and hard as it can go for 30, 60, or 90 minutes ...

No Idea. I have a Garmin and find theres a 5-10 second delay with the 320. The 430 has a faster update rate so I am assuming its a faster response time. Wild birds. However birds were far more plentiful back then.
Also more help was used as trainers were generally teams of 2 or 3 people.
With advancements in training techniques and training aids I dont know why you would look backwards.

Doesn't $1,500 for a pup seem a little steep? You can buy a very nice started Pointer or setter for that money. The type of people buying continentals is whats driving the price up. My first shorthair was $800 ($600 usd) now a guy would be hard pressed to find a well bred pup for less than $1000 us...

Side casting is generally frowned upon in FT. Your time would be better spent entering a trial then walking or riding all the braces in that stake yourself. Watch the dogs and see who wins. I’d say you got 2 options.
#1 you keep letting her do what she is doing and hope she learns to handle running birds. This can take a while.
#2 get the dog broke.
