You could supplement with high fat beef. I feed extra 73/27 ground beef that I get on sale for $2/lb the night before a big day. You can also add a raw egg every other day.

At 1 year, it seems a switch was flipped and my pup just calmed down overnight.

Just spit balling- It sounds like the TOW "recall" could have been linked to one distributor or outlet. Kibble is perishable, it pays to buy from outlets that turnover their inventory frequently.

I mostly shoot an auto loader at clays.

Low gun Skeet- Cylinder choke with #8 shot & .007 with #9

Trap- .025 Imp Mod, although I bet I break as many with .015 light mod. I'll put in .035 if we are shooting a game that ends near or past the 27y line.

Looks like the breeder is trying to be strait up with you. He is giving you an out. That is a sign in itself. Looks like he thinks this pup isn't for you. And he know. There can be several reasons why one dealer price is better on a particular gun, chief among them is they have it in stock and need to pay bills ;) If it's what you want, grab it now, Benelli don't seem to be discounted very often (especially the extra barrel)

It's more than just grains, potatoes, peas, carrots, etc. all are food for yeast. I would try flesh, bone, and offal raw diet until the the yeast is whipped.

I'd strip off the finish you have applied (CitriStrip works great) and go with PRO Custom Stock Oil available from Brownells. Give the end grain special attention as that is where stocks take on water.

IMHO, it's about how much "project" you can stand and afford. Cast and length can be added, but, drop is the drop. Barrels are the killer, anything remotely suspect should be checked by someone with the right tools before you buy.

As a guy who waited 30 years until I knew I could take good care of a bird dog, I don't think you are in a good spot.

For long guns you do not have to have a FFL ship the gun. You can do it yourself as long as it's being shipped to a FFL. You have the buyer's FFL send you a copy of his license and then ship it to him. Keep the copy for your records. For handguns it's another story. Those have to be shipped from FF...
