Re: Question for Setter and Brittany Owners...
My Llewellin hunts cover very well! Also, there are Llewellins doing well in Coverdog trialing, and many others that could. There's not much difference in E. and L. Setters anyway. There's difference in breeding among each of course, but training can make good coverdogs out of either.

Re: New Quail Organization
All efforts to improve quail habitat are important, and we need to do more. However, the need to investigate farm chemical's effect on reproduction seems to be mostly ignored. The effect of predators and nestrobbers don't seem to get investigated much. I realize all these factors are interrelated, b...

Re: My gsp eats way to fast!!!!
I basically freefeed my 45# male Llewellin Setter. He has a pen connected to the front of a small building, so the extra feed left out does not get wet. I feed about every three days. He eats what he needs, and does not gorge at all. Try that with your stubtails!

IBeware of sticker shock though when looking at Llew puppies, most don't come cheap... I disagree. I paid $400 for my pup 18 mos ago. Llew pups in the midwest will run $350-700. They will usually all have good hunting pedigrees. I don't know where you have been shopping, but you are a bit off. Ther...

Thyroid is the first thing I thought of due to it's overall effect on metabolism and the immune system. A test that's low normal could be an indication for treatment according to some. Nothing to lose, and keep in mind dogs don't assimilate thyroid meds as well as humans do. Just a thought, and don'...

I don't have a big problem with "dog food advisor" except for at least a couple of things. 1) High quality well-processed grains have good nutritional value. 2) By-Product Meals from top-grade sources are good and actually advantageous. I would argue that dogs have evolved somewhat into Omnivores, b...

Ezzy is correct in that most allergies are protein in nature. However, food sensitivities are related to chemicals in or on feed sources more specifically related to how grains are grown and processed. It's likely that what some call allergies are possibly sensitivities. Because most Vets don't test...

I don't think there are any bad pedigrees with Llewellins because the pool is smaller. Some lines may have higher tails etc, but the dog will be what you make of it. I couldn't download the pedigree either.
