Re: dogs + hardwood floors?

I recommend staying away from "real wood" floors with or without dogs. It will scratch and also requires a lot of maintenance. I would go with one of the new laminate floors. They look just like real wood, are very durable and will provide years of maintenance free service. Have you looked at a pie...

20 ga for training and field trials

I am trying to find one gun to fill a variety of needs; training and field trials (AKC and AFTCA trials for pointing breeds), some hunting and something for my 9 & 10 year old boys to learn to shoot with. Does anyone know any reason not to use a 20 ga for field trials and training? I would use Empty...

Who loves you more, your dog or your spouse?

To find out, put them both in the trunk of your car for an hour. Open the trunk and see which one of them is happy to see you.

AFTCA. It is a shooting dog stakes that has been run at Sedgefield Plantation (previously Maytag Plantation) in Union Springs, AL since at least the '50's.

I believe that to be the case. Smart was out of Potato Patch Sue, after whom I named my first EP, Briar Patch Sue.

The question makes me think to ask my father-in-law if he has any of Doc's old breeding records.

Just briefly, and he had already had a stroke and wasn't in the best health. We have a couple of trophies and some other memorabilia of him (like this photo) around the house. We also visit his old place in AL at least once a year. I can't wait to bring my new EP there in February!

By PES do you mean Purina Equine Senior? That's nuts!! I can't tell if you're serious or not. 15 lbs of grain per day. Don't you have a pasture?

We cut her grain completely and she is gaining weight and putting on muscle on forage alone.
