We did talk at length about Michael Vick... I didn't. Because what am I going to add to was was said. And that thread is about dogs. It was an outlet for those that had very strong feelings about how Dogs were treated. I did not like that thread much either but I could understand it, at least in pa...

I just thought I would post a bit on the studies. I wanted to see the context of the conclusions so I went looking for the studies. I work at the University of Utah, and have access to almost all the journals out there. I could not find any of the studies that were mentioned in the article. Also the...

Whiteruger, sounds like you have a great dog there. I think it is great that you are willing to take a rescue dog and a dog like this and give it a great life. I have tried playing keep away. I would ignore my GSP and then play keep away from the dog. even if we does not show interest at first, it is just a matter of time. The kids love it too, especially when Cash would try to get the dummy, The kids would just giggle. Good times. Something to try anyway.

Some advice. Take it for what it's worth... The Weim standard is controversial. You guys can't find common ground. Agree to disagree and move on. Without taking personal shots at each other. Good people...and you folks *are* good people...disagree all the time. It's OK I hope that Hub did not think...

Weims that are barking, short tempered, neurotic dogs are created, not born that way. Some breedings may be more prone to those issues, but most are created by their owners. I agree that this is a problem that can be created, but you have also seen Weims that fit this discription because of poor br...

I don't own a Weim but that was my first choice for a dog, but I could not find one that hunts. As far as I can tell, the WCA is the reason we have the weim we have today. Most are barking, short tempered, neurotic dogs. I am not saying your dogs are this way, You hunt so that puts you far above the...

I think I have the answer to many of the problems we face today including this one. Enforce the Laws we have! Nipple waterers are the only way to go for watering both pigeons and gamebirds. Cap a 3 or 4 ft length of 4" pvc or even a 3-5 gal bucket. Drill 3/8 holes in the bottom and insert nipples. Hang in birds reach. A top cap will need to be drilled as for an air vent. The birds can't foul their water an...

It doesn't sound like a confused dog to me. The Dird dogs I know might be confused about what is expected when a trained command is given but they all had a strong responce to birds.
