stitched leather collars
When one of my dogs get done with school and reaches the point where thay are staunch on birds, back on sight or command and finish force breaking to retrieve I get them a nice leather collar. I know the coated nylon collars are more practical but you can call it a quirk on my part. My problem is fi...

One of my setters will tree squirrels. When he was a puppy he caught one in the yard and it bit him on the nose. He now hates them with a passion. I like to eat squirrels so when he trees one I shoot it out. He will even chop a time or two when he first sits down on a tree. He treed one in a NSTRA t...

I am one of those people who attracts ticks, chiggers, etc. The critters will crawl a mile to get on me. This is the only thing I have found that is bullet proof. We used it in the mulitary.

White/Black Shorthairs
You guys fill me in on these white and black shorthairs. Do they come from certain bloodlines or do they show up from time to time along with the liver? I saw on run this past winter and he was a bird finding machine and he looked good doing it.

He didn't breed to the one in your avatar did he? That's a good looking dog. Litter of Takoa Mt stuff hit the ground in Bend yesterday. Thinking of having a look at them. Don, The breeding already happened. A guy drove 11 hours this week to breed her to one of my males. His vet had given him thumbs up so far as her health is concerned but like you I have heard a lot of stories. I don't have any first hand experience with that sort of thing and was hoping someone here...

Would you breed a 7 year old female that has never been bred before?
She is healthy (still a good all day hunter) and has always had regular cycles.

Don, Mix batter from selfrising corn meal (about 2 cups), 1 egg, a small chopped onion and enough buttermilk to make a very stiff batter. Drop them in 350 degree veg oil with a melon scoop. Dip your scoop in water when it gets sticky. If your batter is right they will flip themselves over after one ...

OFA Cost
Grant, My vet (North Alabama)charges $170 and handles everything including mailing. We should remember that the OFA rating is directly related to the quality of the xrays sent to them. I'm sure sedation makes the vets job quicker and easier but it also allows him/her to get a better xray which may w...

Brett, So far as I know Jeremy will be running this season. I went up to see him a couple of weeks ago and he seemed to be getting better after loosing his mom. Must be tough on a boy of his age. He will be ok and running by september. We are going to SanAngelo in February for a Llewellin trial and ...

Hi Brett, Yes, I finally finished the storm job the first week of this month. I almost bit off too much on that one. The factory rep informed me that the latest models are built from galvinized material and then powder coated. Those facts, along with your comments have pretty much convinced me to get the Pr...

All, I am in the process of building 4 new kennel runs. The slab will be poured in a few days and I am researching kennel panels in something other than chain link. Do any of you have any suggestions for some of the heavy welded wire type panels with the powder coat paint. I would appreciate any inf...
